Audio Energy Meditation, with Rachael Webb
This meditation is going to be different from other guided meditations. You’re not going to be sitting alone in a quiet place. In fact, I’d like for you to be in a place where there are multiple layers of sounds.
This guided meditation can be practiced either while walking or seated. We will first become anchored into our breath. Then we will become aware of the sounds closest to us — one layer out from our physical bodies. Next we will move through four layers of sounds, each time expanding out a little farther. In the fourth layer we will really stretch our listening capabilities to the point where we can only imagine the sounds in this outermost layer. From here, we will begin contracting our hearing sense, descending our awareness back down through the layers, until we come back to the physical body. From this point, we will bring our awareness inside our bodies discovering the different layers of sounds we find within.
After practicing this guided meditation several times, I hope that it becomes an energetic practice that you play with often. By expanding and contracting your awareness through listening, your energy field will also strengthen, and you will be able to consciously expand or contract your field through your intent. This will allow you to have more control of the level of interaction you have with other people or situations, becoming more grounded by bringing your awareness inside, or opening to new ideas by expanding your awareness.
