Spirit Girl 1
This is the first Spirit Girl. She was created for a beautiful and vibrant woman who is battling ovarian cancer. She was my first experience in creating a spirit girl for someone, a process in which I interview the person for whom the painting is commissioned, and then paint the image that comes of our conversation. I could feel her life force throughout the creation of this painting. It is the first in series of deeply intimate painting commissions.
